Today was a pretty busy day for us but hey, the sun was out so we didn't care! And this also meant that we could do #44. off the list. Spend a sunny day in a beer garden!
Recommended on We Love Brighton's list is the Hobgoblin, which suited us very well as it is just outside The Warren, where we had to be for our feature on Hayden Cohen's Performer's Podcast, where Tamara had promised to help out at Molly's Vintage store for the day, where we had to pick up all our gear for our Fringe City performance in the afternoon, and where we had to be later in the evening for our seventh performance of Point & Shoot at Brighton Fringe! We had actually attempted this task earlier in the week when there was a glimpse of sunshine, but we were thwarted by clouds appearing and then discovering that we had missed the food service time, and we really felt like a burger! Anyway, perfect opportunity today - the sun was out, the timing was right and there was space in the beer garden!
It was pretty busy at The Hobgoblin, but after standing at the bar for a while we managed to get ourselves a pale ale and a cider and order our food. Rob got ripped off a bit, getting a bottle of ginger beer with only about a third of ginger beer in it... what's with that? But... we'd found ourselves a spot in the sunshine in the fresh air of the beer garden, and were enjoying the warmth and vitamin D too much to take issue.
Then the burgers arrived that Tyler and Erin ordered.
Now how does this sound: A beef burger, with a dark chocolate and ale sauce, and asparagus spears and goats cheese to fill it out? Weird you might think, but golly gosh! It was so delicious! And the best meat we've had in a burger in Brighton by far!
We are starting to drool now just thinking of it again, so without going on about it we will leave you with this short video of the cat we met there. It made friends with Robert.
