Yesterday, the 6th, was freezing outside, with a seriously cold, gusty wind! With little need to venture outside except for the overwhelming need for more coffee, with really pushed ourselves and struggled around the corner to complete #3 off the list... View Brighton's Best Street Art.
Now in Brighton, it seems you can walk down any street in town and glimpse some wonderful wall art, or just some creative graffiti!
There's so much that when you are thinking about other fabulous things that you are up to that day, you sometimes might walk past without paying any particular attention. What A Mistake! Some of the street art is seriously amazing, and as We Love Brighton point out, very famous murals or iconic works of art. On our journey to the most famous of them (and a stop at Small Batch Coffee) we even looked at ones we'd previously been past with more interest, like where we took our Star Wars photo the other day there were some cool other images.
When we got to Kensington Street though, they were amazing! The Run DMC dude playing chess is huge! And it seemed like a good place for Tyler to hide out of the wind... It's like finding Wally in this picture.
This mural is right opposite one of the coolest venues in Brighton too, though we may be biased. Otherplace Productions, who are hosting us over here in their glorious Warren theatre space, run this groovy Basement venue that everyone Brighton based or visiting should try to go to. This is a fabulous place to catch a Fringe show at too!
On the wander to the all important coffee, we also passed Robert Street, conveniently located with a dragon on the corner!
This is a good time to mention that one of Robert and Tyler's earlier creations was a movie trailer for a web series named Dragon Conquest - think 80's fantasy adventure. You can watch this on our Look & Listen page, it's quite amusing, and Tyler has terrible hair.
Anyway, once coffee was in our hands, we couldn't face the cold any longer so rushed home past the famous kissing policemen. It may not be the original but it still looks pretty good. Erin wanted Tyler and Robert to clutch each other in a passionate embrace in front of it... that wasn't gonna happen though. Sorry to get your hopes up. Instead, you can have this picture. Dolores after Sheldon again!
