We had a visit from Sarah Hallott on Saturday night, who came along and supported us at our second night show and the second Late Show feature. For this second late night show we chose to do some other Jones/ Woods favourites starting with a touch of Point & Shoot, including the removed song Second Place, then some of Delicious House, Ashley Judd, and Zombie Girlfriend. Went down a treat!
Anyway, because we had an arty, vintage loving, talented photographer with us, we chose from We Love Brighton's list... #2 Delve Through Snoopers Paradise.
This place is 7000 square feet of browser's heaven, with almost anything you could imagine to be found - if you could find it! Being a bank holiday, it was absolutely packed, so not only did we have to tip toe through the gazillions of items and display cases, but also manage to sqeeze around other snoopers. There were moments when we lost one another and ended up calling Marco-Polo to reconnect in the labyrinth.
Tamara found her favourite area in Snooper's Attic, where we found a treasure for Robert - a melodica! Really though, we probably could have sourced instruments for an entire orchestra inside Snooper's Paradise, there were more instruments scattered around for sale than there are in Point & Shoot!
We could have spent hours in there, but it was a little overwhelming, and felt like being a kid in your grandparent's house where you can see this amazing clutter of relics but you hold yourself back from touching anything because there's probably an adult ready to take it off you and put it back. Either that, or there's a sense of urgency to pick it up and run gleefully to the counter to purchase it before anyone else gets their hands on it!
This may be a trip to repeat on a quieter day.
PS: Robert loved his melodica. He played a jig and we danced in the living room.
